Winning Leadership Support for Learning Initiatives

Friday, August 28, 2026

1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM CT, 11:00 AM MT and 10:00 AM PT)

A well-designed learning initiative cannot succeed through strong content and facilitation alone. Leadership support plays a critical role in shaping how the initiative is perceived, whether employees are given the time and encouragement to participate, and whether managers reinforce the desired behaviors after the training is complete.

This Romar Round Table will explore practical ways learning professionals can build meaningful leadership support for training initiatives. The discussion will focus on connecting learning priorities to business needs, communicating the value of an initiative in language that resonates with leaders, and engaging key stakeholders early enough to influence both the design and implementation.

Participants will also examine common barriers to leadership support, including competing priorities, limited resources, unclear expectations, and skepticism about the impact of training. The group will discuss strategies for moving beyond passive approval and creating visible, sustained leadership involvement throughout the learning process.

Through an interactive exchange of experiences, challenges, and proven practices, participants will identify practical approaches they can use to strengthen the case for learning, increase leadership commitment, and improve the likelihood that training initiatives produce lasting results.
